Mahishasura Mardini (24th Sept)
SIMA is proud to present Mahishasura Mardini, a production by the vocal students of the school, in conjunction with the percussion and instrumental faculty, with additional support from instrumentalists from the community. Based on the Mahishasura Mardini Stotra, this production is taken from an original radio performance first performed in the state of West Bengal in 1930 during the time of Mahalaya. An abridged version of this production was first presented in Seattle ten years. This year’s production is complete, and demonstrates the rapid growth in the abilities of SIMA’s students.
