Brandon McIntosh is a Seattle based sarod
performer. His primary instrument is Sarod, a descendent of the
early Afghan rabab. He began studying Indian music while working
on a degree in percussion at Central Washington University. Upon
receiving his degree, he moved to Kolkata, India to study sarod
with Pandit Buddhadeb Dasgupta. While in India, he taught at
the Calcutta School of Music, and performed in cooperation with
a number of organizations such as: the Kolkata Shakespeare Society;
Ramakrishna Temple, Belur Math; Calcutta Foundation Orchestra;
and, Srijan. In 2005 he completed a Masters degree in music composition
at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. During the past six
years, he has composed instrumental, vocal, and improvisatory
pieces, and his works have been performed in India, Ireland,
Belgium and the United States. His honors include the Farrell
Scholarship and the Departmental Honors Award in Music from Central
Washington University, as well as two awards from University
of Wisconsin - Madison: the FLAS Fellowship in Bengali of the
Center for South Asian Studies and the Benward Grant of the School
of Music. His works have been commissioned and performed by:
EAR Ensemble, Ireland; Eugene Composers Collective, Oregon; and,
the Wisconsin Film Festival, Madison. He has performed with such
noteable people as: kathak danceer Sujata Banerjee, dhrupad singer
Arijit Mahalanabis, and tabla player Yogesh Samsi. He has recently
been accepted into the ITC Sangeet Research Academy,
Kolkata, India.

Rita Meher's first experience with television
was in Japan while working as a "Coordinator of International
Relations." She co-produced English Language Programming
for Bato Cable TV in Bato, Japan. In Seattle, Washington, she
has worked as a Media Production Specialist at Puget Sound Access
TV, a Video Producer at Bellevue TV, and Freelanced for KOMO
TV News. Rita co-founded a South Asian Film Organization called
Tasveer, which screens independent films of South Asia. Rita
also wrote, directed, and produced her own short film Citizenship
101, which has been screened at the Dallas Asian Film Festival,
Bumbershoot One Reel Film Festival, and Seattle South Asian Film
Festival ? in which she was a guest panelist in the women filmmakers
forum. She has worked with composer Hummie Mann and worked on
various film and documentary productions in the Pacific Northwest.
Most recently, Rita was the director of the 2nd Independent Seattle
South Asian Film Festival - an event widely anticipated and attended.
